Leslie E. Smith, Jr., is Executive Vice President, Development, for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC), and project executive for various RGDC projects in Florida and New Jersey. Mr. Smith has been with The Rockefeller Group since 1979. In New Jersey, his responsibilities include overseeing construction of the International Trade Center in Mt. Olive; a 2.2-million-square-foot office park venture with The Gale Company in Florham Park; and a two-million-square-foot industrial complex at Exit 8A in Cranbury. His Florida projects include the South Florida Reservation Contact Center for Delta Air Lines, a state-of-the-art facility in Miramar. Three properties have been designated foreign trade zones: the Mt. Olive and Cranbury sites in New Jersey; and Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone at Gateway Commerce Center in metropolitan St. Louis.

Mr. Smith is a member of several real estate industry and business organizations, including the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, and the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones. He has been active for many years within the northern New Jersey community as well, serving on a number of local boards and committees. These include the Board of Trustees and Advisory Board for Boy Scouts of America; the Board of Trustees of Waterloo Foundation for the Arts; the Board of The Corporation for Business Assistance in New Jersey; the Advisory Board of the NJIT School of Architecture; the Board of Trustees of the Atlantic Health Management Corporation; and the Executive Committee of DAYTOP-NJ, an adolescent substance abuse program. Since 1994, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO cited Mr. Smith as its Business Honoree for 1994. He received the New Jersey Pride Award for outstanding achievement in Economic Development. In 2002, he was honored as recipient of 2002 Humanitarian Award presented by The National Conference for Community and Justice and in Mt. Olive as a Pillar of the Community for his long-term commitment to municipal library services
