In her role as Construction Coordinator, Nicole Simmons serves as the developer’s onsite representative for projects under construction, primarily build-to-suit endeavors. Her geographic location changes as the company’s major projects dictate, ranging throughout the Southeast. She serves as the RGDC Project Manager’s day-to-day liaison to the general contractor and the various subcontractors, as well as to the representatives of the tenants who will occupy a given building under construction.
Ms. Simmons joined the company in 2007 after serving as a project assistant for Seawood Builders, Bollenback Builders Inc., and Wynn Builders and Contractors, whom she also served as office manager, all in Florida. She has experience in commercial, residential, and retail construction work and was involved in the construction of consolidated car rental facilities at two south Florida airports.
At RGDC, Ms. Simmons was the onsite construction coordinator for The Rockefeller Group’s mixed-use development in Miramar, Florida. In 2009, she relocated to Georgia to work onsite at a 1.5-million-square-foot distribution center under construction for General Mills.
Ms. Simmons is enrolled at Florida International University in the Construction Management degree program, and she is completing her Associates degree in Building Construction Technologies at Broward College. She is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction and is OSHA certified. |
